NCI ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF USPLUS; PROGRAM PROVIDES COMPLETE TELEPHONE SUPPORT SERVICES TO LAW FIRMS, CORPORATE LEGAL DEPARTMENTS

PHILADELPHIA, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- NCI (Nelson Consulting, Inc.) today announced the availability of USPlus(SM), the first program to provide complete telephone support services to law firms and corporate legal departments of all sizes.
The monthly subscription service includes telephone and on-site support services, software upgrade and configuration management services, network administration services, and off-hours access to trained systems professionals for solving user problems and network troubleshooting. Service subscribers also receive substantial discounts on NCI's classroom training and consulting offerings.
USPlus provides attorneys, legal secretaries, and other law firm staff with a comprehensive "help desk" that is just a phone call away. Because these computer users are not technicians, they often don't have a source for accurate, up-to-date system instruction. Their computer problems will have a direct and immediate impact on their ability to do their jobs. Even if they can leave the workplace long enough to take a formal class, unused software features are forgotten -- until they are needed to complete a work-related task. The goal of USPlus is to make systems support available to the user when and where it is most needed -- after training is over, at work, every day.
Traditional software support programs are geared toward technical personnel and problem solving, and often discourage end-users from calling, particularly if the "problem" is really just a question about how the system operates. Likewise, computer re-sellers who offer support often do not know a firm's business well enough to understand the urgency of a user's questions. In contrast, USPlus is designed for the end-user. USPlus is staffed by professional support personnel with law firm experience, so they understand the customer's jobs and stresses. For the first time, attorneys and staff will have a ready source of "how-do-I?" information -- experts who understand their jargon and who can relate to them.
USPlus sizing and pricing options address the needs of every size firm, from the sole practitioner to the mega-firm. For solo lawyers and in small firms, USPlus gives the user access to expertise that, before now, has never been available to them. In mid-size and larger firms, the USPlus program provides "one call does it all" assistance. USPlus can supplement existing support staff or can be used as an out-sourcing mechanism to firms considering downsizing.
USPlus is available today to firms in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. Plans to expand the geographic reach of the program are in place for fourth quarter 1993.
