NBO conducts training on treasury operations.

MUSCAT -- National Bank of Oman (NBO) has conducted a certified training programme titled 'ACI Operations Course' for its staff working in the treasury and investment banking back offices.

Taking into consideration the wider job function of the operations staff, this course was designed to provide a benchmark for competency in all aspects of the operations and settlement processes.

It covered underlying instruments involved in the international financial markets, the processes for efficient settlements and related basic financial calculations.

A certified trainer of Association Cambiste International (ACI), the premier certifying body for treasury related training courses at the global level, conducted the training at NBO's training centre.

Hussein Ali Habib, NBO's AGM and chief compliance officer, who inaugurated the training programme, observed that a well-trained and efficiently-organised treasury operations department is essential to complete every transaction.

The operations department provides a vital service to the front-office, by ensuring that all funds flow in a timely and correct manner and that all the necessary documentation is completed.
