NBF completed task of supply of textbooks.
Islamabad -- The National Book Foundation (NBF) has been almost completed the prime task of supply of textbooks in the educational institutions under Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) located in Islamabad Capital Territory for Academic Session 2016-17, says a press release.
NBF has been playing its central role in dissemination of knowledge, literacy and inculcation of book reading habit among people for last many years. In line of chain of actions and being declared NBF as Federal Textbook Board, it also carried forward the job of improvement, making corrections in errors and uplifting the standard of the textbooks in respect of their layout design and harnessing high quality of paper in the textbooks as per pervious practice.
Managing Director NBF, Prof. Dr. Inam ul Haq Javeid personally took keen interest in developing, printing and supplying process of textbooks for students of ICT. The services of textbook expert, Prof. Dr. Attash Durrani were hired for completion of this important task who tried his level best to present textbooks up-to the international level and optimal standardization.
In this year, textbooks survey for class I to class VIII was conducted to get feedback of students and teachers from four schools, two from rural, urban and boys, girls located in Islamabad Capital Territory. The report of this survey has been incorporated in inner- side of each relevant subject textbook first time in order to make improvement for next Academic Year in the light of recommendations of survey report.
This step has been taken by NBF and it appreciated by large number of students, teachers and parents. By adopting fast track system, NBF started printing process of textbooks and almost completed its assigned task of supply to the students in the starting of Academic Session 2016-17.
The FDE has setup nine Resource Supply Centres, five in urban and four in rural areas schools. NBF established its Main Supply Centre in G-84 Islamabad, from where all textbooks delivered to specify FDE Resource Centres according to prescribed demand. In spite of this fact that Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Islamabad issued delayed prescription order of textbooks from IX to XII, NBF has made-up its mind to provide all textbooks to the students before the starting of their classes.
