NBD NAMES TWO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENTS

 DETROIT, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Gordon S. Crimmins and Donald M. Nowicki have been elected executive vice presidents of NBD Bancorp (NYSE: NBD) and its Michigan subsidiary, NBD Bank, N.A. Crimmins was appointed head of operations with responsibility for the company's information processing, systems development and quality/service support areas. Nowicki was appointed head of Retail Banking Services, overseeing NBD Bank's branch system including all of the Regional Banking divisions in Michigan, the residential and consumer lending and marketing services divisions and retail technology implementation.
 Crimmins has been in banking since 1959, holding positions at various banks in the Midwest. In 1969, he joined First State Bank of Saginaw (acquired by NBD in 1978) as president and chief executive officer, and was named chairman in 1980. During the 1980s, he headed several NBD affiliates in Michigan and several of NBD Bank's Regional Banking Divisions. In 1991, he was elected senior vice president and head of banking activities for Indiana and Ohio. From November 1992 until this promotion, he headed NBD Bancorp operations and information processing.
 A native of Morley, Mich., Crimmins received a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Michigan State University in 1956. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Banking in 1967.
 Nowicki joined NBD in 1950 in its Regional Banking Division. He went on to hold increasingly responsible positions in this division as well as the bank's United States Division. He was elected senior vice president and named head of the Michigan Banking Division in 1985. He was appointed head of Michigan Regional Banking in 1992.
 Born in Detroit, Nowicki received a graduate certificate from the American Institute of Banking in 1963. He completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in 1967, and the Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma in 1970. He is a trustee of the Henry Ford Continuing Care Corporation.
