NAZI TITANIC: REVEALED Five, Tuesday, 8pm.

This programme may just win the award for having the most quintessentially Channel Five title of all time.

However, don't let that fool you into thinking it's some sort of spoof, instead it tells the genuinely fascinating story of one of the most expensive movies ever filmed - The Titanic.

The now largely forgotten 1942 movie was made by the Nazis.

The famous disaster of 1912 was remodelled as a tale of Allied weakness and German courage but the offscreen drama thoroughly overshadowed anything that made it into the cinemas.

Not only were military personnel brought back from the front so they could act as extras, but the director was arrested and possibly executed on Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels' orders, while the ship standing in for the Titanic was sunk in the final days of the war in a desperate bid to cover up the horrors of the holocaust.
