NAVY CHEF ACCUSED OF GROPING WOMAN SAILOR; He claims shipmate was 'twerking' in his face.

A NAVY chef has appeared at a court martial accused of groping a female sailor's bottom during a party on the fleet's then flagship.

Able Seaman Omar Cummings claims the woman had been twerking "provocatively" inches from his face.

And he said it was an "instinctive reflex" to "shove" her bottom away.

After the woman became angry Cummings says he asked: "Your bottom was in my face. What did you want me to do?"

The woman alleges she was just walking past the seated sailor when he assaulted her while a group of sailors drank and danced in the mess on HMS Albion. Cummings said: "She was dancing and shaking her bottom. And I just shoved it away." When asked why he did not simply ask her to move, he said: "Because then I would have to get up, reach around and tap her on the shoulder and I was not thinking. It was just an instinctive reflex."

Later the sailors took a group photo in which Cummings, originally from

Saint Vincent in the Caribbean, was stood behind the woman, who told the court he "grabbed my a*** again".

Cummings denies disgraceful conduct of an indecent kind and sexual assault. The trial continues.
