NAVY'S 4 MISSING IN CRASH.

Byline: PETE SAMSON

FOUR men were missing last night after a Navy Lynx helicopter crashed in the sea.

It was on a search-and-rescue mission after a military vessel reported hearing cries for help.

But contact with the Lynx was lost 15 miles south east of the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall.

The Ministry of Defence confirmed the helicopter had gone down.

Three other military helicopters and a French Falcon aircraft were scrambled to search for the missing helicopter and crew, who were based at Culdrose.

Falmouth coastguard said: "Cries for help were heard by warship Montrose and we began a search, but then the Lynx lost contact."
