NAUTICA BRINGS BACK BATH LINE, QUILTS.
Built around a three-tiered program, the designer label's home collection will include looks in the latest lines that fit each tier. The company is remaining focused on its department store distribution strategy, but the home collection will be included in Nautica's new flagship store, set to open in Rockefeller Center in March 2001.
Like the bedding, the shower and bath accessories are inspired by themes from its sportswear-themed ready-to-wear collections. In such fabrics as brushed chino twill, some shower curtains feature grommet-and-tie detailing while designs like seersucker and blackwatch plaid not only reflect the company's design aesthetic, but tie back to the bedding as well. Prices for the new shower curtain line range from $19.99 for vinyls to $49.99. Prices in the three new bath accessory lines, all with male-friendly motifs, range from $14.99 to $49.99.
Several colorful quilt designs are also being produced by American Pacific, many of which coordinate directly back to the new bedding patterns. Opening prices for the quilt line start at $89.99.
With several patterns inspired by its swimwear collection, Nautica is also launching six bedding collections. Denim and cotton brights star in the casual Crew collection, while embroidered polka dots in navy carry the Bridge collection. Taupe and platinum define the master bedroom look.
