NATURAL MICROSYSTEMS ANNOUNCES SECOND ANNUAL MVIP DEVELOPER'S
 CONFERENCE BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS OCTOBER 13,14, & 15, 1992
NATICK, Mass., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Natural MicroSystems announces the second annual Multi-Vendor Integration Protocol(tm) (MVIP(tm)) Developer's Conference to be held in Boston on Oct. 13, 14 and 15, 1992. The conference will include a product showcase, a discussion of technical papers, an MVIP(tm) user's panel, committee meetings and presentations on education standards and technology, as well as guest speakers and discussion of future directions for MVIP. All MVIP licensees are invited to attend.
The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency, Cambridge, and the Museum of Science, Boston. A product showcase on Tuesday evening and Wednesday will provide licensees with an opportunity to exchange information and network. Among those companies exhibiting at the product showcase are: Amteico, Brooktrout Technology, GammaLink, Mitel, Natural MicroSystems, OAZ Communications, Pika Technologies, Promptus Communications, Rhetorex, SDL Communications, and Voice Processing Corporation. The keynote speaker on Wednesday, Oct. 14th will be George Sollman, president and CEO of Centrigram Communications Corp., San Jose.
"Since its introduction in Sept. 1990, MVIP technology has blossomed into an internationally accepted architecture for telephony within a computer," said R. Brough Turner, Natural MicroSystems' senior v.p. of operations and "MVIP Evangelist". MVIP is now in use with voice, fax, data communications, and video technologies for diverse applications including multi-media messaging, information delivery, transaction processing, and call routing."
An important development for MVIP has been Natural MicroSystems' agreements with NTT (Nippon Telephone & Telegraph) and Mitel Corporation regarding co-licensorship. The agreements provide potential MVIP licensees with three points of reference and furthers NMS' goal of worldwide licensing coverage for MVIP.
MVIP has experienced phenomenal growth during the past year," said David Levy, president of Natural MicroSystems. "We have over 120 licensees worldwide ranging from board manufacturers to system manufacturers to public network operating companies."
The Multi-Vendor Integration Protocol(tm) allows for the integration of advanced communications technologies on a single PC platform. Licensees have developed applications and interface cards for all elements of the emerging multi-media market including video, fax, IVR, voice and data processing, and connectivity to the world's digital and analog communications networks.
Natural MicroSystems Corporation, headquartered in Natick, Mass., is the worldwide leader in the development and marketing of standards- based, open architecture voice processing systems that combine computer telecommunications technology.
