NATIONWIDE SUBSIDIARY VOWS VIGOROUS FIGHT AGAINST "GROUNDLESS" ALLEGATIONS

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The Public Employees Benefit Services Corporation (PEBSCO) doesn't intend to roll over and play dead to Philadelphia city officials who have filed a lawsuit against the company.
All allegations contained in the lawsuit, PEBSCO said today in a news release, are groundless. The company vows to fight the unfounded allegations with vigor.
PEBSCO said its performance on behalf of Philadelphia's public employees was above reproach. Because its performance was so beneficial for the public employees, PEBSCO said the lawsuit was a big disappointment. PEBSCO had administered the plan, which now has 12,500 participants and $94 million in assets since 1984.
A subsidiary of the Nationwide Insurance organization, PEBSCO is the country's largest administrator of deferred compensation programs for public employees. The company is based in Columbus, Ohio.
