 NATIONSBANK JOINS EFFORTS TO ASSIST IN HURRICANE RELIEF
 TAMPA, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- NationsBank (NYSE: NB) has joined forces with the American Red Cross and the Daily Bread Food Bank, Inc., to assist in the relief efforts in South Florida.
 NationsBank, NCNB and C&S in Florida have established the NationsBank/Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and will match donations dollar-for-dollar up to $500,000, NationsBank Florida President Gene Taylor said.
 "We are committing unlimited resources to rebuild South Florida," Taylor said. "It will be an extremely difficult and costly process. NCNB, C&S and NationsBank are pleased to be partners in this effort."
 Donations may be made payable to the NationsBank Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for Florida Victims and may be deposited into that account at any NCNB or C&S banking office in Florida. Donations from outside the state of Florida should be mailed to PO Box 31900, Tampa, Fla, 33631- 3900.
 Also, more than 40 NCNB and C&S associates will travel to Palm Beach and Broward counties Saturday morning to pack food bags, which will be distributed by the Daily Bread Food Bank. NationsBank will schedule time to pack bags in Dade County once food supplies have been replenished.
 "To further demonstrate our commitment to South Florida, NationsBank has sponsored a new program for the Food Bank," Taylor said. "We have purchased 80,000 reusable bags to deliver food to the hungry throughout Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties."
 NationsBank associates are part of a team which will feed 40,000 needy in South Florida each month and will distribute more than 6,000,000 pounds of food each year.
 In addition to the below-market-rate loan program NationsBank announced Thursday, the bank also has waived all Honor and Plus fees in Dade County. Overdraft fees also have been waived in Dade County.
 All 22 NCNB and C&S banking centers in Palm Beach County are open, and 52 of 54 in Broward County banking centers are open. The six banking centers open in Monroe County are Key Largo, Big Pine Key, Plantation Key, Summerland Key, Key West (Whitehead) and Key West (Flagler). The 11 banking centers open in Dade County are North Dade, Port of Miami, Presidential Circle, North Miami, West Dade, Palmetto Lakes, Downtown Miami, Hialeah, Coral Gables, South Miami and Fountainbleau.

 NationsBank is the company formed by the merger of NCNB and C&S/Sovran. The merger will be completed in Florida later this year.
