NATIONSBANK EXTENDS METRO ATLANTA BANKING HOURS

 ATLANTA, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- To make banking more convenient for its customers, NationsBank is extending its hours in metro Atlanta banking centers beginning Oct. 18.
 As the result of a Gallup Organization poll of almost 1,000 consumers in metro Atlanta, there are three distinct changes:
 -- All 115 metro Atlanta banking centers will be open Fridays until
 6 p.m.;
 -- Nine area banking centers will have drive-in service available
 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., and extend full-service hours to
 6 p.m., Monday through Friday;
 -- These nine banking centers also will be open from 9 a.m. until
 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
 The nine banking centers, which are located near major shopping areas, are Ansley Mall, Cobb Town Center, Cumberland, Greenbriar, Gwinnett Place Mall, North Point (scheduled to open in November), Perimeter, South DeKalb and Southlake Mall.
 "We have listened to our customers and our competitors' customers. These changes reflect what we heard," said Jim Lientz, president of NationsBank of Georgia.
 NationsBank is also staffing its banking centers to assure that prompt and effective service is provided.
 "Our banking centers have been staffed so that no customers should wait more than five minutes in any teller line, and staffing at the nine locations will be increased to accommodate the expanded service," said Georgia Consumer Banking Executive Dave Bair.
 Beginning Oct. 17, an extensive radio and newspaper advertising campaign will help promote the extended hours.
 NationsBank is the fifth-largest banking company in the United States with more than $124 billion in assets and full-service banks in nine states and the District of Columbia.
