 NATIONSBANK COMMERCIAL TO AIR DURING SECOND
 QUARTER OF ORANGE BOWL ON NEW YEAR'S NIGHT
 Customers of the fourth-largest banking company in the country will not have to wait long before they start seeing evidence of the new NationsBank.
 A 90-second television commercial, to be aired during the second quarter of the Orange Bowl on New Year's night, will mark the official unveiling of NationsBank in the region from Maryland south to Florida and west to Texas.
 Then, on Jan. 2, the first business day of the new year, custom($100 million) and Ashland Management ($30 million).
 -- Small stock portfolios are being managed by UBS Asset Management ($32 million) and John McStay Asset Management ($32 million).
 -- Flexible asset allocation portfolios were awarded to Hellman, Jordan ($66 million) and J.P. Morgan Investment Management ($66 million).
 -- International equity assignments went to Scudder, Stevens & Clark ($30 million) and Rowe Price-Fleming International ($30 million).
 -- The Northern Trust was chosen as a master custodian.
 Martin F. Birmingham, chairman of The Freedom Forum trustees' Finance/Investment Committee, said: "Our decision to diversify The Freedom Forum's assets is important to the future of the foundation. Because of our diversification, the assets are $100 million more than in December of last year. We interviewed many qualified firms and have selected a group of managers that should place The Freedom Forum on solid financial footing for the long-term future."
 William F. Brock, head of consulting at Evaluation Associates, worked with the committee.
 The Freedom Forum supports its priorities through programs, publications and projects that promote the understanding and exercise of freedoms and values embodied in the First Amendment. Its main operating program is The Freedom Forum Media Studies Center, at Columbia University in New York, the nation's first institute for the advance study of mass communication and technological change. In addition, the foundation will open The Freedom Forum First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. The Freedom Forum also operates the Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowships in Washington.
