THE HAGUE, the Netherlands, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Nationale- Nederlanden, the insurance arm of Internationale Nederlanden Group, has agreed to sell its British subsidiary Life Association of Scotland (LAS) in Edinburgh to Glasgow-based Britannia Life Limited.
This decision is connected with the strategic reorientation of ING's insurance activities. Nationale-Nederlanden is convinced that Britannia Life will provide LAS with good additional distribution facilities.
ING Group, Nationale-Nederlanden's parent, has more than 51,000 employees in 47 countries, offering a full range of financial services for both individual and corporate clients. In North America, its operations include 15 life and health insurance companies in the United States and in Canada, and branches of ING Bank in several U.S. cities.
