NATIONAL LODGING CORP. APPOINTS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER AND GENERAL COUNSEL

NEW YORK, March 7 /PRNewswire/ -- National Lodging Corp. (Nasdaq: NALC) announced today the appointment of two new members to its senior management team. Kenneth J. Weber has joined the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Douglas H. Verner, Esq., has become Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Both appointments are effective March 1, 1996.

A 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Mr. Weber, 50, brings considerable experience to this new position. Prior to joining National Lodging, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Omni Hotels. His other industry experience includes executive management and finance positions at Red Lion Hotels, Marriott Corporation, Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour Restaurants, Pillsbury's Family Restaurants and the Isaly Company.

Mr. Verner, 42, also brings extensive hospitality industry experience to his position at National Lodging. For the past twelve years, Mr. Verner held several senior management positions at Forte Hotels, Inc., the North American subsidiary of a London-based global hotel company. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. He also held the position of Vice President & Corporate Counsel at Forte. Prior to joining Forte Hotels, Mr. Verner was with the law practice of Harrigan, Ruff and Osborne located in San Diego, California. Mr. Verner currently serves as the Chairman of the Copyright Committee of the American Hotel and Motel Association.
