As the practice of investor relations moves from lore to discipline, the professional stature (i.e., what you get paid!) increases significantly. Maryla Boonstoppel will tell us about the Body of Knowledge developed over the last three years by NIRI National that now forms the core foundation for the new discipline of investor relations. She will show you how to tap into this Body of Knowledge to upgrade your professional skills, prepare for a new job or create more visibility in your present position, and realize your full earnings potential. She will also share some anecdotal advise from her own recent career move and promotion.
Maryla Boonstoppel is vice president, Investor Relations, and corporate secretary of Consolidated Freightways Inc. She is responsible for all board-related matters including the annual meeting, preparation of the proxy and conducting the proxy campaign itself. In addition, she is responsible for all aspects of an active investor relations program and shareholder communications activities for institutional and individual investors in the company stock and debt securities. Previously, she was with McKesson Corp. as director of investor relations and served in various finance positions with Potlatch Corp., Itel Corp. and Birr, Wilson & Co.
