NATIONAL INTERRENT 'REINTRODUCES' SUMMER RATES TO EUROPE MAKES AN ATTRACTIVE PROGRAM MORE ATTRACTIVE

MINNEAPOLIS, July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- National Car Rental/Interrent is making its car rental summer rates in Europe even more attractive. Taking advantage of a stronger dollar, National has reduced its European AdvanSaver rates. The program went into effect April 1, 1993, and continues through Oct. 31, 1993.
In order to boost buying power of travelers to Europe, National is offering weekly rates guaranteed in U.S. dollars, for as low as $126 in Switzerland, $142 in Germany, $162 in Belgium and $168 in the United Kingdom. Tax is inclusive.
"National is out to make renting a car a simple process worldwide," said Dan Knudsen, National's vice president of marketing. "When the new era of a 'borderless Europe' came into being, travel in Europe became easier than ever before."
The AdvanSaver Program, which features weekly rates (minimum seven days), requires a 14-day minimum prepaid reservation before departure from the United States. After receipt of payment, National will issue a voucher to be presented at the time of rental. The rates include unlimited mileage/kilometers, maintenance and standard liability protection. Any changes to the reservation must be made 14 days in advance.
One-way rentals within one country (where available) are subject to restrictions of that country and a three-day minimum charge. One-way rentals between countries are available with a minimum seven-day rental. Renters must be a minimum of 21 years of age (25 in some countries), and present a valid driver's license and passport identification.
For individuals who want flexibility in their travels, National offers European Passport Rates, which are guaranteed in local currencies at the time of reservation. Cars must be reserved at least two days in advance. Rates are available for three to 21 day packages, and include unlimited mileage/kilometers. This program is also in effect through Oct. 31, 1993.
The Interrent partner in Europe is Europcar Interrent, and is the largest corporately owned European car rental system, featuring more than 1,700 locations in 28 countries.
National Interrent features General Motors vehicles, and services over 5,000 locations in 130 countries worldwide with system members Tilden Interrent, Europcar Interrent, and Nippon Interrent.
