NATIONAL FUTURES ASSOCIATION (NFA) PARTICIPATES IN FUTURES INDUSTRY RELATED ACCOUNTING SESSIONS

 CHICAGO, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants will host two evening mini-sessions in New York City designed for practitioners in the futures industry. The objective of Financial Reporting and Regulatory Requirements for Commodity Funds, held Jan. 6, 1994, is to familiarize participants with current financial and regulatory reporting issues including Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) reporting requirements, performance tables, fund structures and off-shore funds. The speakers for this session are Stuart M. Cohen, CPA, Arthur Andersen & Co. and Mark J. Richman, CPA, Deloitte & Touche.
 Financial Reporting Requirements for Futures Commission Merchants and Introducing Brokers, scheduled on Feb. 2, 1994, is geared to assist participants in their preparation of financial statements for futures commission merchants and introducing brokers. Topics include net capital computations pursuant to CFTC Regulation 1.17, computation of segregation requirements, and computation of secured amounts. Wal-Mon Chan, associate director of Compliance, National Futures Association, is the speaker for this session.
 Participants receive three hours of continuing professional education credit for each session. They will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Foundation for Accounting Education (FAE) Seminar Complex, 530 Fifth Avenue, 5th Floor, New York.
