 NATIONAL FUEL TO REDEEM DEBENTURES
 NEW YORK, Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of National


Fuel Gas Company (NYSE: NFG) has authorized, from time to time, depending on market conditions, the redemption of the company's:
 6-5/8 percent sinking fund debentures, series due Aug. 15, 1993
 8-1/8 percent sinking fund debentures, series due July 15, 1994
 8-5/8 percent sinking fund debentures, series due Feb. 15, 1997
 7-1/2 percent sinking fund debentures, series due May 15, 1997
 9-7/8 percent sinking fund debentures, series due Aug. 1, 1999
 9-7/8 percent debentures due Sept. 1, 2006.
 The total principle amount of the debentures authorized to be redeemed is $166,501,000. It is expected that the redemption will take place during the first quarter of calendar year 1992.
