NATIONAL DATACOMPUTER, INC. REPORTS LOSS FOR FIRST QUARTER
BILLERICA, Mass., May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Gerald S. Eilberg, chief financial officer of National Datacomputer, Inc. (NDIC) today announced the results of its first quarter ended March 31, 1992.
Eilberg reported that revenues for the quarter were $729,422 with a net loss of $147,618. This compares with revenues of $892,206 and a net profit of $4,297 for the same period in 1991.
"The majority of the drop in revenues occurred in customer- sponsored software contracts, as NDIC shifted its emphasis to new product development," said Eilberg. "However, the return on this investment is beginning to pay off, as shown by the Purchase Order received at the end of March for $188,000, to be shipped over the next six to eight months."
Norman Mackinnon, president of NDIC commented that "aside from the first quarter, we still expect that 1992 will show improvement. This would continue the trend that began in 1991 when the company had revenues of $3,267,868 and a net loss of $373,922 as compared with the same 12 months in 1990 of $2,943,917 and a net loss of $1,510,670."
National Datacomputer, Inc. designs, manufactures, markets and services rugged, programmable handheld computers, data collection devices and peripherals. NDIC is also a leading developer of software solutions, such as its Route Service System, for people who need the power of a PC in the field rather than at their desk.
