NATIONAL DATA ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH STATE OF TENNESSEE TO PROVIDE ELECTRONIC TAX FILING SERVICES

ATLANTA, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- National Data Corporation (NYSE: NDC) has announced an agreement with the state of Tennessee to provide Electronic Tax Filing Services(TM).
Initially, the state will target corporate electronic funds transfer (EFT) taxpayers to sign on for the service, which will help reduce the cost of processing business tax filings. Currently, about 6,000 Tennessee corporate taxpayers are required to remit taxes via EFT.
"National Data is pleased that the state of Tennessee has signed for this valuable service," said Yves Masson, senior vice president of Government and Corporate Information Systems and Services at NDC. "Both the state agency and the corporate taxpayer will benefit by this agreement. Processing tax filings electronically significantly reduces operating costs for the state agency by eliminating most of the manual paper processing activities. Data entry errors are also eliminated and taxpayer filing information is available immediately."
According to Masson, taxpayers benefit from the immediate acknowledgment that their filing has been received and they're provided with a complete audit trail, enhancing data security.
National Data pioneered electronic state tax payment and is currently providing services for 11 states offering electronic funds transfer that have mandated electronic tax payment. In addition, NDC provides corporations with payment services for all states accepting electronic payment.
National Data Corporation is a leading provider of value-added application systems and information services for the healthcare, government/corporate and retail markets.
