NATIONAL COMPUTER SYSTEMS APPOINTS BOWEN TO NEW POSITION

 MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- National Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NLCS) (NCS) today announced the appointment of Robert C. Bowen as president, NCS/Education. NCS/Education, a division of National Computer Systems, is a leading provider of scanning/testing systems, school administration software and forms to the nation's education market. Bowen had been serving as senior vice president, NCS/Education.
 Charles W. Oswald, chairman of the board, stated, "Bob Bowen's extensive experience in education and business gives him the stature to perform this assignment in excellent fashion. Bob has led this organization through a successful product development phase; and, with our growing number of customers, it is important that responsibility for management of our education market activities be clearly visible and moved closer to our customers."
