 CLEVELAND, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- National City Corporation (NYSE: NCC) announced today that Charles W. Hall, executive vice president, has been named head of trust at National City and chairman of the Corporation's Trust Business Board.
 Most recently Hall, 49, served as chief investment officer of the $30 billion bank holding company, and chaired the corporation's asset and liability management committee.
 He succeeds Richard E. Beeman, who has resigned to pursue other interests. Hall, whose appointment is effective immediately, will report to William R. Robertson, deputy chairman of National City Corporation.
 Also joining the bank holding company's trust operation is Jeffrey M. Biggar, senior vice president of National City Corporation, who most recently managed all strategic planning and merger/acquisition activity. Biggar, 43, will report to Hall and will initially focus his attention on corporate-wide sales, marketing, and customer service.
 National City Trust offers a wide range of fiduciary and investment advisory services to individuals and businesses through the banking subsidiaries of National City Corporation in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Florida. Trust assets under management total more than $26 billion. National City Corporation member banks administer total fiduciary assets of approximately $55 billion.

 Charles W. Hall has been executive vice president of National City Corporation and National City Bank since January 1984. He joined National City Bank in 1977. His responsibilities have included management of the Corporation's investment portfolio, liability management and all corporate funds activities.
 Prior to joining National City, Hall was an economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
 A native of Denver, Colorado, Hall earned a B.A. degree in economics from Westminster College in 1966 and an M.A. degree in economics from the University of Missouri in 1970.
 Hall serves on the Board of Trustees of the Andrews School for Girls and the Ohio Education Improvement Steering Committee. Hall and his wife Susan live in Pepper Pike with their three children.

 Jeffrey M. Biggar has been senior vice president of National City Corporation since 1991 and senior vice president of National City Bank since 1987, managing the Corporation's strategic planning activities.
 Biggar joined National City in 1972 as a management trainee after receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1972. He received an M.B.A. from Case Western Reserve University in 1978.
 Biggar serves as a trustee of Hawken School and Economics America- Cleveland. He is also a volunteer for United Way and past president of the Hawken School Alumni Association.
 Biggar and his wife Marjorie live in Cleveland Heights with their two sons.
