NATIONAL CITY CORPORATION NAMES ALAN J. DAVIDSON CHIEF FIDUCIARY OFFICER OF NATIONAL CITY TRUST

 CLEVELAND, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- National City Corporation (NYSE: NCC) today announced that Alan J. Davidson has been appointed chief fiduciary officer of National City Trust, reporting to Richard E. Beeman, chairman of the Corporation's Trust Business Board.
 Davidson presently serves as executive vice president for the Corporation's affiliate, National City Bank, Columbus. Davidson will bring nearly 30 years of trust experience to the role of chief fiduciary officer of National City Trust. Davidson will be based in Columbus, Ohio.

Profile of Alan J. Davidson
 Davidson joined National City Bank, Columbus (then BancOhio National Bank) in January 1981 as senior vice president and head of the bank's trust group. He was named executive vice president in April 1982 and has served as a member of the bank's senior management committee.
 Prior to joining National City, Davidson was with Mellon Bank, N.A., in Pittsburgh, where he held a variety of trust management positions.
 He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and earned his law degree from Harvard Law School. Davidson is a member of the Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also serves as a director and secretary/treasurer of Grant Medical Center and is a trustee of The Columbus Foundation and the Hannah Neil Foundation.
