NATIONAL CITY CORPORATION COMMENTS ON EFFECT OF KENTUCKY SUPREME COURT RULING

 CLEVELAND, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- National City Corporation (NYSE: NCC) announced today that the Supreme Court of Kentucky has reversed the decision of the Kentucky Court of Appeals in the matter entitled H. C. Hanson et al. v. American National Bank and Trust Company of Bowling Green, Kentucky, a subsidiary of National City Corporation. The action of the Supreme Court of Kentucky affirms the judgment of the Trial Court which awarded $6,840,000 in damages. The effect of this decision will not have a material effect on the earnings or financial condition of National City Corporation.
