NATIONAL CITY CORPORATION'S INDIANAPOLIS SUBSIDIARY, NATIONAL CITY BANK, INDIANA, APPOINTS JOHN V. WHITE, JR., EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, RETAIL BANKING

 CLEVELAND, April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- National City Corporation's (NYSE: NCC) Indianapolis subsidiary, National City Bank, Indiana, today announced the appointment of John V. White, Jr., as executive vice president and head of the bank's retail banking group, effective May 1, 1993. White replaces Christian F. Lipkaman, executive vice president of retail banking, who will be leaving the bank.
 In his new position in Indianapolis, White will be responsible for consumer credit, residential mortgage lending, branch administration, retail services, and the National City Insurance Company.
 White joined National City Bank's affiliate, National City Bank, Northwest (formerly Ohio Citizens Bank) in 1980 as a consumer loan credit manager and was promoted to senior vice president of the department in 1982. In 1986, he was named retail banking division manager, and was elected executive vice president in 1987.
 From 1987 to 1992, White was a member of National City Bank, Cleveland's senior management group with responsibility for retail lending, and later for National City's marketing, retail services, retail credit, business credit and branch division.
 A native of Detroit, White received a BA degree in industrial psychology and MA degree specializing in financial management from the University of Michigan. He has been an active member of the Cleveland community serving as trustee for the Urban League of Greater Cleveland and the Better Business Board. He is also a board member of the Boy Scouts of America Greater Cleveland Council.
 White will be relocating to the Indianapolis area in the near future.
