 NATIONAL CITY BANK PROMOTES W. ROBERT MANNING, JR.
 TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
 CLEVELAND, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- National City Bank announced the promotion of W. Robert Manning, Jr., 38, to senior vice president, consumer loan services division. Manning manages the new National City Consumer Loan Services center located in Brecksville, Ohio, which is scheduled to officially open on Nov. 2.
 In January of this year, Manning transferred from National City Bank, Northeast to National City Bank in Cleveland in order to oversee the entire implementation plan for the new operations center. He was responsible for choosing the site for the new facility and appointing a task force representing the consumer credit divisions of National City, operations and ISD, and other key areas of the corporation to clearly define the operational functions that needed to be centralized at the site.
 Manning has been in bank management positions for more than 15 years. He began his career at BancOhio National Bank (in Akron) in 1977 as a financial analyst.
 Over the next decade, he served in a variety of management positions in finance and trust employee benefits. He left Akron in 1983 to head up the employee benefits area in the trust department of BancOhio National Bank in Columbus. Manning left BancOhio in 1985 and joined Elyria Savings and Trust as a senior vice president. He joined National City Bank, Akron in 1988 as vice president and consumer credit retail lending manager.
 A 1979 graduate of the University of Akron, Manning earned a B.S. in accounting and business administration. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in 1986. He is a member of both the Ohio Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Originally from Akron, Manning and his family live in Hudson.
