NATIONAL CITY BANK ANNOUNCES RETAIL BANKING
 ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES
CLEVELAND, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- National City Bank has announced several retail banking organizational changes.
"As the retail banking business at National City Bank continues to grow and become more complex, it is appropriate to reassess our organizational structure to ensure maximum productivity, improve communication, and optimize profitability," said John V. White, Jr., senior vice president. "The successful organization designs its structure to match its situation and, with our cost redesign program recommendations currently being implemented, it has given us the opportunity to blend the retail lending and branch administration divisions to reduce management layering and redundancies."
 Retail Banking
John V. White, Jr., heads the newly-reorganized retail banking function for National City Bank. Effective March 1, the structure of National City's retail banking business consists of five key areas: marketing, retail services, retail credit, business credit and the branch division.
White served as retail banking group manager at National City Bank's Toledo affiliate, Ohio Citizens Bank. He joined National City Bank in 1989 as senior vice president and head of the retail lending division. He holds an MS degree in financial management from the University of Michigan. White is a Chagrin Falls resident.
 Branch Division

A resident of Shaker Heights, Christian is a 1978 graduate of Case Western Reserve University. He joined National City as a management trainee in 1981 and most recently served as vice president and branch area executive - east.
 Business Credit
Stephen C. Findlay, senior vice president, has been appointed division manager of business credit. Reporting to Findlay will be the business services group, public funds, and wholesale dealer credit.
Findlay joined the Bank in 1977 as a management trainee and most recently served as vice president and manager of the business services group. A Hudson resident, Findlay holds a B.A. degree in business administration and economics from Hanover College, Ind.
 Retail Credit
Ronald W. Hongosh, vice president, has been appointed division manager of retail credit. Hongosh will oversee indirect and direct credit, business development, residential mortgage loan, and the merchant departments.
A graduate of Cleveland State University, Hongosh joined National City in 1977.
A resident of Olmsted Falls, Hongosh most recently served as vice president and head of business development. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan's Executive Bank Program.
 Retail Services
Nelson T. Hart, vice president, has assumed responsibility for the retail services division. Financial control, personnel and compliance functions, as well as branch operations fall under Hart's supervision.
A resident of Valley City, Hart joined the Bank in 1970 as a branch operations trainee and most recently served as vice president and manager of retail administration and branch operations.
 Marketing Services
Jane Grebenc, vice president, continues as director of marketing and sales. This area includes product management, marketing management and research, advertising, retail information services and sales support.
In 1982, Grebenc joined the Bank as a management trainee following her graduation from John Carroll University. A Mentor resident, she earned her MBA degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1989.
"The new structure allows the branch, business credit, and retail credit areas to each concentrate on what they do best," explained White. "These areas can focus in on their primary concern--their customers. Support is provided to all three areas through the retail services and marketing services teams."
