 NATION'S MANUFACTURERS TO CONVENE IN PITTSBURGH OCT. 22-24;
 NAM BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO VOTE ON NAFTA, CHINA TRADE POLICIES
 More than 120 of the nation's manufacturing leaders will convene in Pittsburgh, Oct. 22-24, at the semi-annual board meeting of the National Association of Manufacturers to discuss and vote on key policies affecting U.S. competitiveness. All events will take place at the Vista International Hotel, 1000 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh.
 NAM Chairman Robert Cizik, CEO of Cooper Industries, Inc., and NAM President Jerry Jasinowski, will hold a press conference Friday, Oct. 23, 9-10 a.m., in the Butler Room to discuss the economy, jobs and the outlook for U.S. competitiveness.
 The board will discuss Gov. Clinton's economic strategy, America's commercial relationship with China, the North American Free Trade Agreement, new SEC rules affecting executive compensation, tax and budget initiatives and the latest technology trends in U.S. plants.
 Key speakers include Roger Altman, economic adviser to Clinton, and Carla Hills, U.S. trade representative.
