Business travelers and tourists alike are pleased to discover the same splendid lodging in Alaska, the Great Land, as Marriott International offers them at more than 1,800 hotels throughout the world.

NANA Management Services manages five properties in three Alaska cities. From the bustle of Southcentral, to the aurora of the Far North, the hotels of NANA Management Services are putting the "sparkle" in customer service.

Whether traveling for business or pleasure, with clients or with family and friends, NMS-managed hotels have the winning blend of facilities and services designed to meet the demands of the most discriminating traveler.

Jeannette Duenow, Director of Hotels, received her experience in hotel management from Marriott International. Beginning at the front desk of one of Marriott's core brands, the Courtyard (in Phoenix), Duenow has nearly fourteen years in the hotel travel industry. Originally arriving in Alaska to assist with the management of the Nullagvik hotel in Kotzebue, Duenow left the sunshine of Arizona for the adventure of the North.

An active outdoor enthusiast, Duenow immediately found a new home in the beautiful 49th state. As NANA Development Corporation extended its hotel ventures with Marriott to build the Anchorage Airport Courtyard, Duenow was a natural to become the opening General Manager. With Duenow at the helm, the success of the Courtyard encouraged NANA Development to continue hotel expansion by building the Anchorage SpringHill Suites (opened spring of 1998) and the Anchorage Residence Inn (opened summer of 1999).

Now, as Director of Hotels, Duenow leads a team of Marriott-trained professionals who are dedicated to making each and every guest feel welcome.

The success of NANA Management Services hotel ventures continued last year with the opening of a second SpringHill Suites. The Fairbanks SpringHill Suites by Marriott, located in the heart of downtown Fairbanks, overlooks the Chena River.

"Opening in a new market was an exciting challenge. We just began our second summer of operation, with occupancy continuing strong. We offer guests the comfort of an all-suite property, complete with swimming pool, gift shops and a restaurant all under one roof, and they love it!" states an enthusiastic Duenow. Now with 618 rooms and suites, Duenow and her team provide Alaska travelers service they can count on.

"We feature warm hospitality with an Alaska flair that sets us apart from our competition," says a smiling Duenow. "We thrive on attending to the smallest details.

"It is our goal to make sure each of our guests has a memorable experience whenever they stay with us." Duenow believes that NANA Management Services is the organization that makes the goal a reality.

Owned 51 percent by NANA Development Corporation and 49 percent by Sodexho USA, an international food and facilities management corporation, the Hotel Division of NANA Management Services provides a wide range of support for a variety of ancillary requirements.
