NAMA honors the best in leadership: NAMA named its national leadership award recipients at the Second General Session of the 2008 Agri-Marketing Conference held April 17th in Kansas City. Congrats to all honorees!

PRESIDENT'S AWARD

Stephanie Gable

The President's Award mm honors an individual who contributes in a significant way to the agenda of the National President. This year, Patty Travis presented the award to Stephanie Gable for her leadership in steering the organization through the development of the marketing plan and other key transitions.

R. C. FERGUSON AWARD

Gary Vorpahl

Career-long dedication and service to NAMA and ABEF have earned Gary Vorpahl recognition through this award. A member since 1974, Gary has been active on the local and national level for many years.

DILWORTH AWARD

Paul Redhage

The Dilworth Award for Innovation is awarded to the individual who shows true originality in volunteer efforts. This award was presented to Paul Redhage who was instrumental in organizing events for the Chesapeake chapter and helping re-energize the chapter.

WORKHORSE OF THE YEAR AWARD

Melissa Sanders

The Workhorse Award honors individuals who not only fulfill their own duties, but also cause others to work harder, better and smarter to benefit the entire organization. Melissa Sanders headed up a special task force focused on converting student NAMA members to professional members.

OUTSTANDING CHAIR

Leigh Ann Cleaver

Leigh Ann Cleaver received the Outstanding Chair award for her contributions to the Agri-Marketing Conference committee, which resulted in a high-caliber event with an outstanding lineup of speakers.

Patty Jolliffe

The Outstanding Chair honor was given to Patty Jolliffe for her service as chair on this year's Careers committee. She has served the Careers program for several years.

MERITORIOUS ACHIEVEMENT

Melanie Acklin

Melanie Acklin planned the Region 2 Best of NAMA. A member of the MoKan board, she also served asa member of the 2007 Boot Camp committee, helping plan the successful ag tour.

Sally Behringer

Sally Behringer helped draft the membership plan for MoKan and also serves as rice chair of this year's Best of NAMA Committee.

Jim Haist
