 NAHB TO HOLD PRESS BRIEFING IN HOMESTEAD
 Robert J. (Jay) Buchert, president of the Washington, D.C.-based


National Association of Home Builders, will hold a press briefing Friday, Sept. 11, in Homestead, to comment on Hurricane Andrew and its implications for the homebuilding industry in Florida and the nation. Buchert, along with NAHB engineering authority and hurricane expert Ken Ford, will comment on preliminary research findings and will announce plans for extensive research to be conducted over the next six months by the NAHB Research Center.
 NAHB officials have been in South Florida for the past two weeks, invited by the Builders Association of South Florida. BASF President Ami Tanel and Executive Director Chuck Lennon will join NAHB officials at Friday's briefing. All will be available to answer questions from the press.
 The briefing will take place from noon to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, at the Keys Gate community. Directions: Florida's Turnpike to Homestead exit. Go under the turnpike overpass and drive about 1/2 mile to Keys Gate entrance on the right.
