NAB vehemently refutes contents of Javed Chaudhry's column.
ISLAMABAD -- National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday vehemently refuted the contents of Javed Chaudhry's column published in Daily Express on May 16, 2019 and May 17, 2019 saying the chairman had not given any interview and column was mere figment of imagination and contrary to the facts.
A spokesman of NAB said in a statement that the facts had not been reported in the column titled 'A meeting with Chairman NAB' in its true perspective and results presumed by the columnist and some other people, derived from some cases and the column, were not true and against the facts.
The columnist in his live Beeper to Express TV admitted the fact that he had not truly reported the chairman NAB's impression in his column regarding the disease of a head of political party. Furthermore, the columnist had also deviated from his self written column published on May 16, 2019, which amply proves that the columnist had written the column on presumptions which were totally in contrary to the fact, having no link with reality.
It merits mentioning here that taking notice of media reports, NAB had already categorically stated that the chairman NAB had not given any interview to Javed Chaudhry. The clarification was aired by various TV channels on May 21, 2019 and published in various newspapers on May 22, 2019, which could be checked from the record. This had also been admitted by the columnist in his TV programme with Shahid Khaqan Abbasi aired on May 22, 2019 in which Javed categorically admitted that the chairman NAB had not given him any interview.
NAB vehemently reiterated once again that chairman NAB had not given any interview to Javed Chaudhry and columnist talked about assumptions regarding some cases and individuals in his column were not based on facts. NAB believes conducting investigations against the corrupt in accordance with prevailing laws.
Deciding about fate on a reference rests with the relevant court of law. Distorted fact had allegedly been presented in honourable courts.
The chairman NAB remained part of judiciary in last 35 years and he cannot imagine talking about any court of law. The chairman respects all politicians and strictly believes in honouring politicians' self respect as per law.
