NAB convicted Ex-food Inspector.
SUKKUR -- The Accountability Court Sukkur has convicted accused Adnan Ahmed Magsi, Ex-Food Inspector, District Shaheed Benazirabad, for misappropriating 3,987 wheat bags.
The accused has been awarded 7 years Rigorous Imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 11.961 Million.
According to a handout on Tuesday, the NAB had filed a Reference No.14/2014, the State Vs Adnan Ahmed Magsi on the allegations of misappropriation/embezzlement of 3,987 wheat bags.
NAB initiated the case on the basis of a complaint received against Adnan Ahmed Magsi.
During investigation, the allegations were proved; therefore, a reference was filed before Accountability Court.
The accused committed the offence u/s 9(a), punishable u/s 10 of National Accountability Ordinance, 1999.
After conviction, the accused has became ineligible to hold public office, to take loan from banking/financial institutions and will lose his job.
Moreover, in case of failure to pay fine imposed by the Accountability Court, the properties of the accused will be auctioned and sale proceeds thereof will be deposited into the national exchequer to make the loss good.
