NAB clarifies report.

ISLAMABAD -- A spokesman for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has clarified a report relating to CDA's light emitting diode (LED) project published in a section of press on Friday.

It has been quoted in the report that the LED project has already been approved by the NAB & Planning Commission.

The NAB spokesman clarified that no approval of the said project has been given by the NAB at any stage. In fact a questionnaire was forwarded by the NAB on April 13o, 2012 after a briefing of CDA to NAB for clarifying of many observations raised by the NAB before any clearance is considered.

The CDA was also informed that the said briefing may not be considered as a nod by CDA to go ahead while by passing the existing rule & regulations relating to the project before execution. Any ire-regularity, criminality or misprocurement if reported with cogent proof at the later stage will be dealt as per law.

Despite reminders CDA has yet to clarify the observations to date which were sought by May 27, 2012.
