NAB Lahore played prominent role in authority's performance: Chairman NAB.

LAHORE -- Qamar Zaman Chaudhry Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday visited NAB Lahore Regional Bureau to review its performance on the basis of annual inspection.

NAB Chairman's Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI and MT) was deputed to conduct annual inspection of NAB Lahore Regional Bureau for the year 2015 and the annual inspection was carried out from February 10 to February 12, 2015 in order to review and evaluate the performance of NAB Lahore Bureau on the basis of newly introduced Partly Quantified Grading System (PQGS).

CI and MT gave a detailed briefing to Chairman NAB about the annual inspection done by (CI and MT) and highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of NAB Lahore Regional Bureau.

NAB Chairman's Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI and MT) informed that on the directions of Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB Partly Quantified Grading System (PQGS) had been devised in 2014. Under this Partly Quantified Grading System (PQGS), the performance of all NAB's Regional Bureaus was conducted in 2014 during January and February 2015 at uniform criteria. 80% marks will be considered Outstanding/Excellent, between 60% to 79% will be considered as Very Good, between 40% to 49% will be considered as Good, while marks less than 40% will be considered as Below Average.

The Chairman NAB directed Chairman's Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI and MT) along with his team to conduct annual inspection of all regional NAB's Bureaus of their performance of 2015 which has stated from January 2016 and annual inspection of Karachi, Rawalpindi, KPK and Sukkar have been conducted during January 2016.

The annual inspection of NAB Lahore was carried out from February 10 to February 12, 2015 and Chairman NAB directed Chairman's Inspection and Monitoring Team gave final presentation about the performance of NAB Lahore during 2015. The NAB Chairman said NAB is committed to eradicate corruption across the board by adopting Zero Tolerance Policy throughout the country saying that Corruption is the mother of all evils.

He said that Corruption undermines development and rule of law and mentioned that Corruption not only causes delays in the early completion of development projects but also causes huge losses to national exchequer.

NAB Lahore Regional Bureau was very important Bureaus of NAB and It played prominent role in contributing towards the overall performance of NAB, he said.

In 2015, NAB Lahore received 4874 complaints, which were processed according to the law and out of 312 complaints verification (CVs), completed 270complaint verification while out of 341 inquiries, completed 270 whereas out of 211 investigations and completed 119 investigations on merit.

During 2015, NAB Lahore has arrested 156 corrupts and filed 111 corruption references during 2015. During 2015, NAB Lahore has recovered Rs. 1056.653 million during 2015.

Chairman Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI and MT) in view of the assessed annual performance based on evaluation under Partly Quantified Grading System prepared by the Chairman Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI and MT) graded NAB Lahore's performance Outstanding/Excellent as 89.24 % Operational Efficiency Index (OEI). Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB said that under Partly Quantified Grading System prepared by the Chairman Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI and MT) has graded NAB Lahore's performance as Outstand/Excellent with 89.24 % operational efficiency index.

He appreciated the performance of NAB Lahore under the supervision Maj A(r) Syed Burhan Ali, DG NAB Lahore.
