N-VIRO RECOVERY, INC. ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF AGKONE, INC.
HOUSTON, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- N-Viro Recovery, Inc. (NASDAQ: NVRO) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Stephenville, Texas-based AGKONE, Inc. AGKONE has developed a patented technology that separates solids from liquids in dairy wastes; the resultant material can be composted into a high-quality, peat-like product. This product can be marketed as a peat substitute, soil enhancer or blending agent when mixed with other recycled organic materials. N-Viro CEO Don Thone said, "N-Viro will put capital into this new subsidiary to commercialize this proprietary technology, expand AGKONE's operations and increase sales." With over nine million dairy cows on approximately 181,500 farms throughout the United States, the acquisition of AGKONE and its patented technology gives N-Viro entry into this vast and virtually untapped dairy waste management market. In tandem with the enforcement of the Clean Water Act of 1994 (which mandates more rigid management and control of non-point source pollution), the Company believes its proprietary technology will meet growing market demand. N-Viro Recovery, Inc. and its subsidiaries treat organic waste streams with innovative proprietary processes to produce organic soil and fertilizer products for resale. These products are marketed under the "Gro Mor" label to the agricultural and retail markets in both bag and bulk form. N-Viro Recovery owns licensing rights to market the N-Viro Process in Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma and Louisiana, and in Central and South America. Services are currently provided in Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee as well as states licensed for the N-Viro Process. -0- 4/18/94 /CONTACT: Renea Hodge, Director Corporate Communications, N-Viro Recovery, 713-370-6700/ (NVRO)
