A 20-YEAR-OLD student has been found dead at a hall of residence in Coventry city centre.

Police say the death of the overseas student is not being treated as suspicious but exactly what happened remains a mystery.

Officers were called to the Study Inn, in Trinity Street, city centre, on June 8, to reports of a sudden death.

An investigation was launched but police quickly concluded that the 20-year-old Coventry University student's death was not suspicious and a file was prepared for the coroner. A member of staff in the coroner's office said no date had been set for the student's inquest to be opened.

A spokesman for Coventry University said: "We were saddened to learn of the death of a student who was living in private halls in the city centre.

"The student was studying for a master's course in banking and finance.

"We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.

"The matter has been passed onto the coroner."
