Pharmaceutical company Mylan (NasdaqGS:MYL) reported on Tuesday the availability of Telmisartan Tablets USP, 20 mg, 40 mg and 80 mg, in the market.
The company added that the Telmisartan Tablets USP, 20 mg, 40 mg and 80 mg are the generic version of Boehringer Ingelheim's Micardis Tablets.
According to the company, it has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Telmisartan Tablets, which is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure.
For the 12 months ending 31 March 2014, Telmisartan Tablets USP, 20 mg, 40 mg and 80 mg, had US sales of about USD259.2m, according to IMS Health.
