Meanwhile, Gateshead Harriers travel to Kingston-upon-Thames today for their second British League Division One fixture.

? TWO Commonwealth gold medallists are among six athletes who have tested positive, the Athletics Federation of India have confirmed.

Mandeep Kaur and Sini Jose were part of the women's 4x400metres relay that claimed gold at last year's Commonwealth Games in Delhi but their futures are in doubt after the governing body revealed drugs tests showed the presence of methandienone, an anabolic steroid.

Jauna Murmu, Tiana Mary Thomas, Sonia Kumari and Hari Krishna were the other athletes to produce adverse findings.

Competition and camp director Mahendra Lal Dogra said last night: "Sini Jose and Jauna Murmu were pulled up on May 25th.

"The other female athletes were between June 11 to 14 at the National Inter-State Athletics Meet in Bangalore. And Hari Krishna on June 17 in Pune."

However, Mandeep protested her innocence and added: "The team doesn't have a doctor. We need a doctor to remain with the team and tell us which vitamins we should be taking."
