CORA Anne Collins' late father will be foremost in her thoughts as she walks down the aisle after he left the money to pay for her wedding dress.

The 30-year-old was moved to tears after her mum Goretti revealed how her "best friend" had wanted to foot the bill.

Cora Anne told the Irish Mirror: "I couldn't believe it.

"I was so looking forward to it, that I was paying for my own dress because mam and dad looked after me my whole life.

"But it means so much to me because he's paid for the dress.

"It means he'll be with me and he will walk down the aisle with me in some way.

"I'm never going to see him again or to have him be part of anything but for him to be part of the big day in this way is very special to me.

"I'll be thinking of him. I was the only girl and we were best friends. He was very special to me."

The bride-to-be from Kerry will tie the knot with Michael Culhane in the medieval city of Dubrovnik next summer.

She will appear with wedding planner Peter "Franc" Kelly on RTE's Say Yes To The Dress this week.

Cora Anne met her fiance at a party in 2007. She revealed it was love at first sight for both with Michael helping her through the grief of her dad's death five years ago. She said: "The minute I saw him I knew. I was just drawn like a moth to a flame, and him to me.

"He is the most amazing, sweet, caring, kind person I've ever met.

Dwas very "We chose Dubrovnik in Croatia because we just fell in love with all the churches and cathedrals.

"It's a beautiful city. Neither of us had ever seen a single episode of Game Of Thrones but we ended up choosing the church at the top of the steps that are used for the Walk Of Shame."

Cora Anne admitted she is worried about seeing herself on television but said her mother works in Tesco and has spread the word far and wide.

She added: "It was a wonderful experience and even though I was a bit nervous being in front of the cameras the whole day was a positive one.

"Franc was a superstar and there was plenty of banter."

Say Yes To The Dress Ireland is on RTE 2 on Monday at 9.30pm.
