My illness was kept a secret. I was bedridden for two days; I'M A CELEB: KIAN IS THE KING; Starving singer suffered 'weird' head rushes; EXCLUSIVE.

KING of the jungle Kian Egan has spoken about his "rollercoaster" ride on I'm A Celebrity - and how bosses hid his health scare from viewers.

The Westlife singer - who lost almost a stone in the jungle - suffered with extreme exhaustion in the middle of series that left him bedridden for two days, with producers on the brink of sending him to hospital.

Speaking in the hotel lobby of the plush Palazzo Versace after winning I'm A Celebrity, the emotional star, 35, clutched on to his wife as he admitted: "Being bedridden was really worrying.

"I knew I was hungry, which is why I was so weak.

"I had two days where I couldn't get out of bed. I've never felt anything like it in my life before.

"I was having weird head rushes whenever I stood up - and I'd have to sit straight back down again. It was horrible. It was way, way harder than I ever imagined."

Kian's victory was watched by a huge 11.9million viewers on ITV, and bosses confirmed he was offered the services of a doctor on the show.

He was given a medical check-up after he was evicted from the jungle and was eventually given the all-clear to party into the night - after a saucy reunion with his wife, Jodi Albert.

Former Hollyoaks actress Jodi, 30, revealed: "I couldn't wait for our passionate reunion. I couldn't wait to kiss his face. I couldn't wait to kiss and cuddle him.

"I kept seeing his eyes and his lovely face on TV and it made me want to give him a huge, big kiss. It was amazing to be reunited."

Kian "cried his eyes out" as they were reunited and promised a "passionate reunion". After kissing and cuddling he reflected further on his jungle journey that saw him beat fashion designer David Emanuel in the final.

He said: "It's really weird to be out in the real world. Being around people is strange. Being on flat ground makes a huge difference in your life.

"As soon as I got out, I couldn't wait to spend some quality time with Jodi and have a hot shower - and eat some normal food.

"I was also looking forward to having a few drinks at the wrap party. It's an emotional rollercoaster in there. I don't know how else to describe it. I've got loads of stories I can now tell my grandkids."

Before going off to the show's wrap party, Kian was given time to relax and have that all important shower. He also got to eat food he didn't cook himself for the first time in weeks, as he was camp chef.

Leaving for the party he said: "I'm feeling really great about everything. I can't believe I'm the king of the jungle. It was the best three weeks in my life. I've met some amazing people and I've had an amazing time.

"It's an experience that all of us will take away forever. It was life-changing and unreal. It's genuinely something you'll never forget for the rest of your life. I highly recommend it." At the show's after party, Kian was joined by runner-up David Emanuel and jungle lovebirds Joey Essex and Amy Willerton.

Not only did David lose the jungle crown, he also lost the most weight in the jungle reality show.

The meagre jungle rations have worked wonders for the royal fashion designer, who appeared on the show as a "challenge" after conquering cancer last year. David told the Mirror: "The last year has been incredibly emotional for me. This time last year, I'd just got out of surgery for prostate cancer.

"It was a huge blow and I thought to myself, 'If I can get through that, what's my next challenge? If I can conquer cancer, can I conquer the jungle?' Well, I think I have. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time in the camp and I can't believe I made it to the very end. I lost two stone in the jungle and I'm absolutely thrilled. I am starving and I will never want to look at a bean or rice again. But I needed to lose weight after the operation.

"I've done it and I'm happy. It's been brilliant. I'm just a guy who makes pretty frocks, so it's been extraordinary."

The one man who wasn't so happy yesterday was Joey Essex. He and model Amy have been inseparable since leaving camp and stroppy Joey refused to leave her side when being driven to the aftershow party.

One onlooker said: "A car was waiting to take Joey to the party but he had a meltdown and kicked off with producers, saying he won't leave without her.

"He got to the hotel door then turned around and stormed back inside after a few heated words. He later returned with Amy and Amy's dad. They all got a car together."
