My Sunny surprise; Dad's gift to daughter after she battles through hip op at 19; EXCLUSIVE.

DEVOTED Shanice Stanier sat for hours on a garage floor helping dad Pete restore his rare Nissan Sunny while waiting for a hip op.
And as she finally recovered from the surgery at 19, Pete knew just how to thank the car-mad youngster - he spent a year secretly doing up an identical model as a surprise for her.
Shanice, whose hip bone was eaten away by a childhood disease, joined family and friends in the belief Pete had won an award - and was stunned when he unveiled the gift.
She said: "It was so heartwarming after everything I've been through. Now I've just got to pass my test."
Shanice, now 22, fell in love with Nissan's Sunny ZX after her dad bought one when she was a child - then got another for her mum. She said: "We used to go on day trips with my mum and dad, brother and sisters, so that was quite special to me.
"Then Dad just left his in the garage. It made me sad seeing it."
When Shanice started going to car shows with her fiance, she realised there were only a handful of the ZX's left in the country. Delivery driver Pete, 52, from Stoke, said: "She came back from a Japanese car festival and said, 'Dad, we need to do that car up'.
"I said, it's too old, it hasn't moved for nine years - the best thing to do is scrap it. She wasn't going to have that."
Shanice, who works for the NHS, added: "Eventually I managed to get him in the garage - but there were a lot of times he wanted to give up.
"It was just nice to make the memories with my dad, do it up together, and make him smile again."
Lively Shanice was Staffordshire skipping champion at 13 - but was diagnosed with Perthes Disease after complaining of pain in her legs.
Former mechanic Pete said: "We thought it was growing pains, then the hospital did X-rays.
"Even though she was waiting for a hip operation she sat in the garage, in the cold, on the floor cleaning springs, helping me paint things, scraping Waxoyl off, getting it in her hair."
As thanks Pete scoured the country for a ZX to match his - then found one for PS150. He said: "It's been hard to keep it secret, she asked if I was having an affair. Little did she know it was the car."
