"My Best Friend" is a book of faith about a boy named Matthew and his best friend, a very special Boston Terrier named Boots. Each page of "My Best Friend" is embellished by a small cloud-circular Bible quotation that pertains to that page's story part. Matthew and Boots come to their family at about the same time and grow up together. They even slept together. Boots loved parties, playing with balls, long walks, car rides, and friends. Boots showed only a bit of tiredness to Matthew, but one day after riding through a miraculous car wash experience, Boots could not respond ;to the request to come out of the car. Matthew's parents took him to the vet, but it was too late to help him and he died. It was very hard for Matthew to accept Boots' death. His sister Taylor tried to comfort him by letting him sleep with her favorite teddy bear, Snugs. Matthew was very sad and lonely. at church his pastor comforts him for the loss of his best friend, saying, "I want you to know that Jesus is your best friend too. He is always with you." One day Matthew goes for a walk with his mother and sees a picture of Jesus in a bookstore. He likes the picture. Later he finds a surprise present at home, which is the picture of Jesus, Matthew's best friend, saying, "Do not be afraid, I am with you (Isaiah 41:10)." "My Best Friend" ends with a simple prayer to Jesus and a list of the scriptures quoted throughout the story. "My Best Friend" is an inspirational Christian children's book that will comfort children of all ages.
