Musician releases CD tribute to pianist.

A LEAMINGTON musician has released a CD featuring the music of legendary jazz pianist George Shearing.

Tony Whittaker's CD, Shear Magic, includes the hits Lullaby of Birdland, East of the Sun (West of the Moon), September in the Rain, Unforgettable, The Continental, Little White Lies and This Can't Be Love.

Pianist Mr Whittaker, 54, of St Helen's Road, who is the musical director of the Royal Spa Centre's Search For A Star, said: "The album will appeal to middle-aged audiences who like light and tuneful jazz entertainment.

"I have spent countless hours transcribing Shearing arrangements from old records, but it's a labour of love."
