Music to your ears.

Close on the heels of American reality TV star Kim Kardashian's shoot in Dubai, it's now the turn of Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia (far right) to bring her new show to town.

tabloid! can reveal that India's highly anticipated musical reality show Sur Kshetra will be shot entirely in Dubai and hosted by Takia. The talent show, produced by the Sahara One network, will feed off the long-standing political rivalry between neighbouring nations India and Pakistan as aspiring singers from both countries compete to win the best team title.

"We are going to shoot for 30 episodes in Dubai. It's exciting and I am really looking forward to it -- I think it will be a fun competition," said Takia in an interview with tabloid! before she boarded a flight to Dubai on Tuesday.

Takia, who has acted in several hit films including Wanted and Socha Na Tha, makes her small screen debut with Sur Kshetra. It was the show's concept that drew her to the project.

"It's a competition between India and Pakistan. It has never been done before and it's a fun competition because it's about music. Normally, you see that kind of competition only in cricket," said Takia, referring to the often emotionally charged matches.

Indian singer Himesh Reshammiya (inset below) and Pakistani pop icon Atif Aslam (inset top) will serve as mentors to the talents, added Takia. "I am a terrible singer so I will stick to hosting the show and encouraging the talents. Himesh and Atif will serve as captains for talents participating in the show. There will also be a jury of judges flying in from both Pakistan and India every week to Dubai."

Though details are yet to be finalised, the shoot in Dubai will last for several weeks.

Asked if Dubai was chosen as a location because it's a neutral zone, Takia chose to play it safe.

"It's a question that can be best answered by producers but I think it's best to get everyone to shoot in Dubai. Plus it's fun to shoot in Dubai. Also, when you shoot in Mumbai -- people will do 10 other things. When you go to a different location to shoot -- even for films -- there will be less distractions."

Takia will begin shooting for the show this week, which is tipped to air on Sahara One in India.
