Music honours at Lipa.

SINGER-songwriter Cathy Dennis, who has penned hits for Britney Spears' and Kylie Minogue, and record producer Trevor Horn will be honoured by Lipa at its graduation ceremony.

They are among six luminaries from the arts and entertainment world who will be made Lipa "Companions" at the event in July.

Sir Paul McCartney will confer the honours as part of the annual Philharmonic Hall ceremony for 200 graduating students.

Companionships are awarded to industry figures who give practical support and guidance to Lipa's students.

Dennis, 39, has penned six UK number one hits, including Britney Spears' Toxic and Kylie's Can't Get You Out of My Head.

Trevor Horn has worked with Paul McCartney, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, China Crisis, ABC, Pet Shop Boys, Tina Turner and Seal.

The other 2008 Lipa Companions, who will be honoured at the ceremony on July 25, are music business lawyer Ann Harrison, choreographer Lea Anderson, theatre designer Richard Hudson and composer and performer Nitin Sawhney.
