Music festival hailed a hit.
Organisers of the two-day Morton Stanley Festival hailed the event a "huge success" with around 9,000 people turning out to listen to more than 40 live bands including Pegasus Bridge and cult favourites Hot Club De Paris and Lil Sumo. Festival spokesman Ray Cooke said: "It got off to a bit of a slow start with all of the rain on Saturday but as soon as that subsided we had so many people turn up. It's been a huge success and we now hope to make it even bigger and better next year.
"We haven't had any problems of crime or disorder and it makes you feel proud of the young people of Redditch who are often given a bad name but have behaved impeccably."
In its sixth year, the festival, which was held at Morton Stanley Park in Redditch, included a community market, fun fair and displays from charities and emergency services.
