Music: Spirit is willing us on; Clubbing.

Byline: by STEVE ARNELL.

BELGIAN duo SPIRIT CATCHER will be playing at Rouge, formerly Area 2 at the Cornerhouse, in Middlesbrough tomorrow night.

Jean Vanesse and Thomas Sohet were brought together by a shared passion for music and the lure of the recording studio. Their polished future disco sound evolved from the minds of two kids born into the sounds of the '70s.

Record labels such as Silver Network, Freerange, Winding Road, Missive and Moodmusic all help ensure their frenzied disco workouts can be heard by the masses. Doors 10pm to 2am.

ALSO tomorrow night, the soaring vocal talent of ABIGAIL BAILEY, which can be heard on massive hit I Just Can't Get Enough, is at the Purple Onion's Cellar Bar in Middlesbrough.

Also playing is DJ GARY BECKETT, while the venue's upstairs area will be looked after by STEVE ARNELL.

Budding DJs can show off their talent at a competition being launched at the venue on Thursdays from 8pm to midnight.

The prizes include music vouchers, a residency DJing at the club on a Saturday night, along with flights to Ibiza and even a guest DJ spot playing in a club in Ibiza. Entry forms are available at the venue.

IT'S all go tomorrow, because hard house night Goodgreef is bringing its seventh birthday celebrations to Yarm's Tall Trees.

Headlining is GG resident ALEX KIDD, who has been making waves in hard dance for a few years.

He'll be joined by Belgian DJ FRED BAKER who made his name in the late '90s with tracks produced under his Groovezone and Y-Traxx guises. His deep, progressive trance anthems have since been heard by thousands of clubbers.

Following is Irish whizzkid JOHN O'CALLAGHAN, one of trance's rapidly rising stars; and GG's resident bosh vixen TYLOR-LEIGH, with the Merseyside lass bringing in the beats thick and fast.

MARK MAITLAND and TODDY will keep the music going in the House Party room, ably assisted by Junior G's BLACKHALL and BOOKLESS and ROB ETHERSON, who will be playing house grooves.

With doors 9pm-4am, entry is pounds 14 members or pounds 15 on door.
