Mushahid says Pakistan and China partners in rising Asian Century.

By Islamabad, April 06, 2010 (Frontier Star): The Chairman of the Pakistan-China Institute, Mushahid Hussain has said that Pakistan and China, comprising 21% of the world's population, are partners in the 21st Century. He was speaking at a National Youth Conference organized by the Pakistan-China Institute in collaboration with the Roots Schools system. About 300 students from the school also participated waiving Pakistani and Chinese national flags. Mushahid Hussain said that Pakistan-China Institute was determined to carry the message of bilateral friendship and solidarity to all sections of Pakistani society, particularly youth and students. He also announced that in cooperation with the Roots Schools system, the Pakistani China Institute was launching the concept of 21/21, representing the partnership of 21% of the world's population residing in China and Pakistan in the 21st Century. He also announced that since 2011 would mark 60 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Pakistan China Institute will celebrate 2011 as the year of Pakistan-China friendship. Presiding over the National Youth Conference, the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Senator Javed Leghari announced that 5000 scholarships would be given to Pakistani students to study in China and a new telecommunication university would be established near Peshawar with the help of Chinese private sector. Faisal Mushtaq, Director of the Roots Schools System, while addressing the Conference, said that they would introduce Chinese studies in the school and mobilize the students to learn Chinese. The programme began with the national anthem of Pakistan and China and a visiting Chinese Media Delegation also participated in the Conference, the first such event devoted to Pakistan-China friendship.
